Frontier Restoration Profile in Commerce

Meet our Profile in Commerce: Frontier Restoration. Located at 6443 Vista Dr, Shawnee, KS 66218, Frontier Restoration is a locally owned water mitigation and fire damage business serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. They pride themselves on being a one-stop shop for disaster cleanup and reconstruction. Frontier Restoration is celebrating its anniversary with an Anniversary Party on Thursday, April 23, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, featuring food, drinks, and fun. Free registration can be found here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/ajgmgta

Tell us about your business.

Frontier Restoration was founded in 2013. Doug and I were looking to provide a streamlined approach to water/fire restoration and rebuild. We also provide mold remediation, duct cleaning, carpet cleaning, and biohazard services.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of running your business in Shawnee? Are there any highlights or milestones that stand out?

I am a lifelong Shawnee resident, and it feels great to serve my hometown community and protect their property in emergency situations.

I took pride in moving my business to Shawnee in 2022 with the purchase of our current building. One highlight was doing a ribbon cutting with the Chamber after our office remodel project in 2024. We were also honored to be recognized by the Shawnee Economic Development Council, winning a Good Business Award in 2023.

Other highlights of our community involvement include participating annually in the Old Shawnee Days Parade, the Irish American Club (Irishman of the Year 2025), Rotary and many activities with the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. We also take pride in being a Shawnee Chamber Annual Dinner Sponsor and Shawnee Chamber Golf Tournament Sponsor. I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the City of Shawnee Fire Department for 15 years until the volunteer arm of the fire department was dissolved in 2010.

How do you see the future of your business within Shawnee, and are there any local trends or changes that excite you?

Shawnee is growing at a rapid pace and seeing the revitalization downtown is exciting. I hope my business can reside in Shawnee and Frontier Restoration can continue to protect and restore commercial and residential properties for years to come.

How has being part of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce influenced or supported your business?

The partnerships my team and I have built through the Chamber are invaluable. Building and maintaining relationships are the heart of our business. We have worked on several chamber members’ properties and appreciate referrals when unexpected things happen.

If you could share one piece of advice with a new Chamber member or a new business in Shawnee, what would it be?

The more you get involved - attending events and building relationships - the more return on your investment you receive. Read the emails and check the calendar of events. Try to prioritize participating in something each month.

Do you have a favorite story about the Chamber?

We really enjoy participating in the annual dinner and bringing the shiny red 3-wheel Harley Davidson golf cart to the golf tournament each year. It is a huge hit and quite the conversation starter.
