It's no coincidence thatĀ Amos Family Funeral HomeĀ and the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce are simultaneously celebrating 80th anniversaries. For our first 80th Anniversary spotlight, we're taking it back to where it all started.
In 1946, E. Paul Amos and his wife, Hazel, created Amos Family Funeral Home. That same year, he helped organize the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and served as its first President. The Amos family has had a long history of partnership with Shawnee and the Chamber of Commerce. E. Paul's son, Eugene Paul Amos, was the Past President and Honorary Member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, where he received Citizen of the Year. In 2020, E. Paul's grandson, Gregg Amos, former Chamber President, won the Shawnee Citizen of the Year, and in 2021, great-grandson Parker Amos served as Chamber Board Chair.
Parker Amos, pictured here holding a photo of his great-grandfather, E. Paul Amos, now serves as the proud President/Funeral Director of Amos Family Funeral Home.
Thank you to the Amos family! The Shawnee Chamber would not be where it is today without your leadership and family legacy.
