Shawnee Chamber 80 – McAnany Construction, Inc.
For more than 70 years, McAnany Construction, Inc. has helped shape the Kansas City metro, one road, parking lot, and project at a time. Founded in 1954 by brothers Richard and John McAnany, the company has built a reputation for quality work and strong relationships that continue to stand the test of time. Since becoming a member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce in 1966, McAnany Construction is the Chamber’s sixth-longest active member. That commitment to the community was evident early on, with Richard McAnany serving as Shawnee Chamber President in 1969.

That commitment has shown up in their work and in their leadership within the Chamber. In 2009, Phil McAnany, son of founder Richard McAnany, served as Board Chair, continuing the family’s tradition of giving back. Today, that involvement carries on with Ben McAnany, who serves as the Chamber’s Treasurer and represents the next generation of leadership within both the company and the community.

Now a third-generation business, McAnany Construction is led by cousins Ben McAnany and Eric Vossman. In 2025, the company celebrated a major milestone with a Shawnee Chamber ribbon cutting to showcase their impressive new renovations, followed by being named the Shawnee Business Awards 2025 Expansion Award winner. Their long-standing presence across the metro and within the Shawnee Chamber speaks to investment in the places and people they serve.
