Sustainability Starts Here.

Sustain Shawnee

The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Deffenbaugh Industries, is pleased to introduce its new, member-value program, Sustain Shawnee. Chamber members are now being provided the opportunity to commercially recycle at a discounted, monthly rate to better the environment and keep our community clean.

    Program Details:

    • Sustain Shawnee involves a co-mingle approach to recycling, which means sorting paper from plastic and other various waste materials is not necessary.
    • Co-mingle containers are eight cubic yards and emptied biweekly.
    • Cardboard-only containers are also available at a discounted rate. They are the same size as the co-mingle containers; emptied up to five times per week.

Take the green initiative. Please click here to complete the program participant agreement form and go green today! Contact the Chamber office at 913.631.6545 for more program details or e-mail Megan Hardwick, program coordinator.
