Jim Martin, Executive Director of the Shawnee
Economic Development Council, was quoted recently
in BusinessWeek magazine promoting Shawnee's
bioscience development efforts. The article, "What's
Propping Up the Economy", highlights the impact of
the health care and bioscience industries on the
national economy.

Senator Jim Barnett, Republican Candidate for
Governor and Governor Kathleen Sebelius,

a committee is composed of 17 city, business, and
tourism representatives. Together we work to market
Shawnee as a tourism destination -- its attractions,
events, hotels, shops and restaurants.

| “MISSION– POSSIBLE” |
| |
"Mission - Possible" is the theme for the 2007 Total
Resource Campaign (TRC) for the Shawnee Chamber
of Commerce. The TRC is chaired by Dale Warman
and Kathleen Whalen, The Whale
Spout Car Wash. Their special agents, Dawn
Kuhn, Bank Midwest; Pam
Cooper, The UPS Stores; Lori
Hoelting, LA Graphics and Shelly
Fabac, Sign-A-Rama , are working hard
to make this another successful campaign.

| 2006 Shawnee Business Expo A Success! |

The 2006 Shawnee Business Expo, Celebrating 150
years of Commerce, was held on Thursday,
September 21st at the Shawnee Civic Centre. Over
68 member businesses participated in the event.
