It is with a heavy heart that I sit down to right this column today. A few moments ago I passed by the house of Clarence “Red” and Mary Hartman, as I do most days of the week, just as Amos Funeral Home was leaving the home taking Red to prepare him to go to his final resting place.

Each year, the Shawnee Economic Development Council recognizes several area companies for their outstanding support of the Shawnee community at a Business Appreciation luncheon. This year’s luncheon was held Thursday, July 20th at Shawnee Town Hall.
