KC Business Magazine names three Shawnee Companies "Tops"
Three of Kansas City Business Magazine's Top 10 Companies of 2011 are in Shawnee, and Chamber members! Congratulations Perceptive Software, SKC Communications & Fun Services!
Perceptive Software was recognized for "Global Growth."
SKC Communications received the "Community Stewardship" award.
Fun Services was selected as the "Corporate Cool" awardee.
Winners were selected based on answers submitted via questionnaire and reviewed by a panel of independent judges. Topics covered in the questionnaire included company culture, community involvement, plans for growth and commitment to employees.

The 2011 class of Shawnee Tomorrow culminated with a luncheon celebration at Lake Quivira Country Club on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. The class consisted of 11 participants. The 2011 class joins more than 300 previous graduates as alumni of Shawnee Tomorrow. |

Superintendent urges legislative awareness

The Shawnee Mission USD 512 superintendent told business leaders last week that one of the best things they can do to help the district is to stay informed about legislative issues. Gene Johnson, speaking at the Jan. 12 Shawnee Chamber of Commerce luncheon, said the district expects more budget shortfalls this year.
