Welcome to the November 2006 Chamberline!

The Shawnee Chamber staff is not only very busy this time of year working on the balance of the 2006 programs and events, but also working with committees and groups to establish a very strong 2007 program year for our members.

On October 19th, Shawnee Economic Development Council (SEDC) staff participated in the 4th Annual Johnson County Partnership Familiarization Tour. The driving bus tour began at Barley’s Brewhaus in Shawnee for lunch and included every Johnson County municipality.

Our guest speaker, Dayton Moore, Royals General Manager, will speak on "The Royal Way, A Model Organization" on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Parkway West Banquet Facility, 13030 Shawnee Mission Parkway

Travelers spent $1.5 billion in Johnson County in 2004, accounting for 2.9 percent of total expenditures in the county and 22.1 percent of all tourism dollars spent in Kansas.

The 2007 Total Resource Campaign is once again a great success thanks to our Co-Chairs Dale Warman and Kathleen Whalen, their special agents and the many volunteers who stepped up to secure commitments for over $70,000 in sponsorships and 35 new Chamber members. Their success would not be possible without the support of our many members who stepped up to renew their sponsorships and other new sponsors who see the benefits of supporting the business community.
