"Mucho Gracias"-Volunteers
I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the volunteers
that make the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce work each and every day of the
year. The faces of these volunteers are like the seasons of the year, you
never know if the cold is coming or going. Some volunteer for an hour and
others have been volunteering forever, some volunteer because they are
asked, and some are driven. Whatever it takes for the person to get out
of their box and get into the ring is appreciated with open arms.

Who Doesn't Like Cookies-It Works Very Well for Midwest
Airlines!
Taking a page from Midwest Airlines -your Shawnee Chamber also uses free
cookies to sweeten your chamber investment. Almost 500 Shawnee Chamber
members have received free cookies as a special thank you for renewing
their chamber membership in the last year. What a sweet way to show our
appreciation for your continued investment and support in the Shawnee
Chamber.

Grocery Store's - What's Happening?
We are frequently talking about the challenges of economic development
and attracting "new" developments to our City. While attracting
new developments is important, it is also important to keep existing
developments viable for business. There have been many questions asked
recently about the apparent high vacancy rate in former grocery store
facilities throughout the City.
